BFG special rules and FAQ

So games workshop released most of the rules for BFG on it's site. However, there a lot of little add-ons that appeared in white dwarf and some glaring rules inconsistencies between books (like point values) that need clarification.

So after some serious searching I found some nice PDF's that have the rules that appeared in white dwarfs and the 2007 Battlefleet Gothic FAQ (released by Adepticon for tournaments).

See attached.

Re: BFG special rules and FAQ

Good info!  I have still not figured out whether or not Tyranids can utilize biomorphs in normal games.  Anyone found anything on this?  And if so, what is the reference?

Re: BFG special rules and FAQ

Toward the end of the faq, in the orc section, it mentions something about fighters giving a bonus against turrets when bombers attack a capital ship. However, the rule isn't spelled out. Anybody know what the actual rule is?

Re: BFG special rules and FAQ

It is the turret suppression rule. Each fighter that comes in with a bomber wave gives 1 extra attack, up to the number of turrets on the defending ship. This is in addition to the bomber attack (D6 minus turrets) and is given whether or not the fighter survives the turrets. So attacking a ship with 2 turrets with 2 fghters and 2 bomber squadrons gives you D6-2+D6-2+1+1. If turrets hit the two fighter squadrons, the results are the same.

It is mentioned for orcs because orcs use fighta-bombas that count as both fighters and bombers, so you get to pick.

The idea is that the fighters make a nuisance of themselves and defend the bombers on the attack run, giving a little more time for the bombers to target.

I will have a copy of the rule with me today.

Re: BFG special rules and FAQ

Took a bit but here's where I found them when doing google searches.

additional rules

FAQ
http://www.adepticon.org/wpfiles/BFGFAQ2007.pdf

Also Void Dragon has the fighter/turret rules spot on. For orks another difference is because Fighter/bommas only roll a d3 instead of a d6 for number of hits they would be useless against anything with 3 or more turrets. So in the armada rules it states that orks receive a +3 bonus with respect to turret values (also mentioned in the FAQ). So in the scenario that void dragon laid out for regular craft, orks would go a little like this:

Attacking a ship with 2 turrets 4 fighta/bommas; 2 as fghters and 2 as bomber squadrons, gives you D3-2+D3-2+3+3. This works out to two guaranteed hits even if the turrets shoot down two squadrons.

According to Port Maw, yes you can use them in normal games. Here's the thread I found.

Re: BFG special rules and FAQ

I have the SM pdf. It is fairly official (not tournament legal, but published). It has rules for several different types of SM fleets, but nothing specifically blood angels. I would just paint some SM ships with their colors.
